Alex, founder and director of L'Emporio Fine Foods has a wide background in hospitality: born in Piacenza, he successfully graduated from the Hotel School of Salsomaggiore Terme, and gained national and international experience in the kitchens of acclaimed restaurants (San Domenico, Imola; Royal Hotel, Sanremo; Hotel de la Tour, Chatillon-sur-Chalaronne; Chesa Veglia Restaurant at the Badrutts Palace, Sankt Moritz).
Decisive for his future career was the encounter and shared work experience with Massimo Spigaroli, the “King of Culatello”, from whom he learned the importance and the secrets of a careful artisanal elaboration of the raw material.
Settled in London since 1998, Alex has participated in the opening of Floredita in Soho and The Collection in Chelsea.
