    Here is the Italian Sub Sandwich Recipe: This large Italian sandwich is perfect as party food, dinner for a large family, or even simply a few days’ worth of quick lunches in advance. It has all the things I love: crunchy pickled vegetables, salty cured meats, and chewy Italian bread. The best part is that you just need to bake one big loaf, slice it, and serve everyone. Finishing up dinner. or a meal! …or party food! Why on earth did I waste time slicing sandwiches?

    What Is an Italian Sandwich: I prefer salami and pepperoni, but mortadella and capicola are also common in Italian subs and sandwiches. Even though it’s not traditional, I also enjoy adding roast turkey to mine.

    When it comes to cheeses, my personal favorite is provolone, but I really enjoy other varieties like Swiss. An Italian sub includes plenty of meat and cheese, but it also has a variety of chopped pickled and crispy veggies. This recipe is a great addition to your collection, whether you refer to it as an Italian sub, hoagie, or just a party sandwich.

    For my sandwich, I choose a supple Italian loaf. Cutting the loaf in half and scraping out some of the interior breading from the upper half is the secret to making this loaf work. The fillings will have more room to breathe now.

    Ingredients required for Italian Sub Sandwich Recipe

    • 1 standard Italian bread loaf
    • 1/4 cup of mustard
    • Genoa salami and pepperoni, each 4 ounces
    • Turkey breast, roasted, 8 ounces
    • Provolone cheese, 6 ounces
    • 1.5 cups of finely chopped iceberg lettuce
    • 1/4 of an onion, chopped
    • Pepperoncini (or sliced banana peppers) pickled in a quarter cup
    • Kalamata olives, chopped, 1/4 cup
    • Three to four tablespoons of pure olive oil
    • Vinegar of red wine, 2 teaspoons
    • Seasoning for Italian food, 2 tablespoons

    Method for Italian Sub Sandwich Recipe

    1. Prepare the bread:

    Use a serrated knife to cut the Italian bread in half lengthwise. Use a spoon to remove some of the bread from the upper half of the loaf. This will prevent the sandwich from falling apart and provide more space for toppings. Please don’t dig too deeply. You still require it for stability.

    2. Layer the meats and cheese:

    Cover the bread’s bottom with mayonnaise. Put the meats and cheeses in whichever order you desire on the bottom of the bread. There’s no hard and fast rule, but I usually start with the cured meats, then the turkey, and last the cheese.

    3. Finish the sandwich:

    Finely dice the olives, pepperoncini, tomatoes, and iceberg lettuce. Place a bed of lettuce in the bread’s upper, hollowed-out half. Chopped tomatoes, peppers, and olives go great on top. Toss the vegetables in a generous amount of red wine vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, and Italian spice. Bring the loaf’s halves together and gently press them together.

    4. Cutting and serving the sandwich:

    Make six equal-sized bites out of the giant sandwich. Wrap and serve right away, or save for later. Leftovers! Cut the sandwich into pieces and cover them individually in plastic wrap if you don’t plan on serving them right away. Sandwiches can be stored safely for up to two days in the fridge.

    Wrap the sandwich up whole and cut it into pieces once you get to your destination for a mobile party. To prevent the sandwich from disintegrating, do that. Toothpicks or little skewers can also be used to hold the sandwich together. However, if you plan on storing the sandwich in the fridge for quick lunches, it’s best to cut it into smaller pieces and wrap them separately.
