A Hudson man stepped forward on Tuesday to claim a $50,000 Powerball prize he won on a ticket for a June 22, 2022 drawing
just nine days before the ticket was set to expire, while two $100,000 Mass Cash wins remain unclaimed.
At the Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Braintree on Tuesday, Danny Thomas of Hudson picked up the Powerball jackpot, according to state lottery officials.
After hearing about unclaimed lottery wins on the radio, Thomas and his wife claimed to have recovered the winning ticket, according to lottery authorities.
The pair then verified their winning numbers on the state lottery website, according to lottery authorities. They intend to purchase a new vehicle with the money.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Hudson Sunoco at 422 Main St.
