On Tuesday, former President Donald Trump entered a not guilty plea in a Miami federal courtroom.
Trump is facing 37 federal accusations, including illegally keeping government secrets and attempting to obstruct justice, in an extraordinary indictment of a former president.
The charges against Trump include that he physically assisted in packing the files as he left the White House in 2021, boasted about having access to top-secret documents,
Walt Nauta, one of his assistants, has also been charged with obstructing justice and making false claims. Tuesday saw no plea from Nauta.
Trump claims he is innocent and that the prosecution is unfairly targeting him because he is re-running for president.
In remarks last week, special counsel Jack Smith, who was chosen by the Justice Department to lead an impartial investigation into Trump, praised the efforts of his group and the FBI.
